Je rencontre une erreur lors de l’exécution du script de postconfiguration sur un serveur Debian Jessie :
si possible, il faudrait mieux passer en Debian Stretch, elle est sortie depuis déjà quasiment 1 an. Debian Jessie va passer en support Long Term d'ici 1 mois [1]. Si vous voulez plus de durabilité sur le support des distributions, il faut mieux utiliser CentOS.
ERROR: new encoding (UTF8) is incompatible with the encoding of the template database (SQL_ASCII)
HINT: Use the same encoding as in the template database, or use template0 as template.
le problème vient de l'encoding de la session utilisateur quand le paquet PostgreSQL a été installé. Pour résoudre le problème, je vous suggère de : * désinstaller (purger) Postgresql, apt-get purge postgresql * nettoyer les répertoires de data postgresql /var/lib/postgresql, * vérifier que l'on a bien une locale dans le shell différente de "LANG=C" (par ex LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8 ou en_US.UTF-8) * relancer l'installation.
Il me semble que c'est un bug du paquet PostgreSQL qui prend la locale en court de la session au lieu de la locale définie pour le système /etc/default/locale lors du lancement de la commande initdb.
