Je déploie progressivement la gestion des mises à jour Windows via WAPT sur mon parc, mais je me suis arrêté parce que je constate des lenteurs énormes depuis que j'ai activé l'option sur certaines machines : au démarrage des postes, un processus "wuauserv" est lancé par WAPT (je suppose) et ralentit la machine de manière drastique (grosse occupation de la RAM et du processeur). Sur certaines, cela rend le poste inutilisable pendant 10 bonnes minutes (évidemment, cela se produit sur des salles de cours où les postes sont allumés par les étudiants 30 secondes avant les tests en ligne ^^').
Mon paramétrage de WAPT WUA est assez basique :
install_at_shutdown => true download_scheduling => 2h
Est-ce que d'autres ont ce souci de performance ? Est-ce lié aux machines (des i5 à 8 Go de RAM) ou à un problème de gestion de wuauserv par WAPT ? Est-ce qu'il est possible de décaler le scan des mises à jour pour que cela ne se fasse pas au démarrage du poste (je n'ai rien trouvé à ce sujet dans https://www.wapt.fr/fr/doc/wapt-usage/wapt-windows-update.html) ?
Je précise que je suis en Windows 10 1903 (pas 2004).

les postes sont-il en HDD ou SSD ?
Pour le download_scheduling peut être le mettre plus large, par exemple 12h ou 2D pour voir sir cela résouds le soucis.

Bonjour,
Nous avons aussi remarqué cette lenteur, du coup nous procédons de la manière suivante : 1) Installation des mises à jour sur le parc via la commande wapt : "Lancer l'installation des maj Windows en attente". 2) Redémarrage des postes à distance en heure creuse pour laisser le temps aux maj de s'installer ; si le nombre de maj est important, cela peut en effet durée 5 à 10 bonnes minutes sur certains postes en HDD magnétique, cela sera bien sûr plus rapide si vous avez des SSD.
Sur la planification du scan/téléchargement dans l'agent wapt nous sommes sur 14d.

Bonjour, download_scheduling à 2h est peut être un peu trop... 1d est suffisant à mon sens.
Mais la logique normale de la tâche dowsload/scan est (voir fonction "rescan_needed") : - on ne re-télécharge le gros index wsuscn2.cab que si sa date sur le serveur wapt a changé. Ce fichier grossit énormément depuis quelque temps. Actuellement 950Mo... - on ne relance un scan (qui est ce qui consomme de la ressource CPU) que si - l'index a changé (le test se fait par une somme sha1 du fichier wsusscn2.cab de 900Mo) -> sur mon vieux portable de 2014 : 5s - les règles whitelist/blacklist ont changé (par un paquet waptwua) -> immédiat - l'état des mises à jour installées a changé (fonction QueryHistory du service windows update) -> sur mon poste de 2014 : 25s
donc la cpu "normale" qui est consommée toutes les 2h est la recherche de l'historique QueryHistory et le calcul de hash de l'index. Si c'est plus long à chaque fois, c'est qu'il y a un scan complet qui est lancé, donc qu'une des conditions ci-dessus le déclenche. Ce searit intéressant d'investiguer sur un des postes en question... en live en regardant quelle étape du process ci-dessous prend du temps
